African Relief Fund constructs mosques based on genuine community requests, ensuring local ownership and long-term impact.
Projects begin when rural communities formally request a masjid or community centre.
We implement mosque projects across the Horn of Africa and other regions where Muslim communities lack facilities.
Individuals, families, or groups can fully or partially fund a masjid and receive project updates throughout.
Uthman ibn Affan reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.” (Sahih)
Sara Jabel is a small farming village in Northern Gambia. ARF had supported the community through development projects for several years before villagers approached us in 2021 with a request to build a masjid and community centre. With the support of generous UK donors, the project was completed successfully.
