What Is Zakat?

Zakat is a compulsory annual charity paid by Muslims who meet the required threshold of wealth (Nisab). It is not optional charity, but a right of the poor upon the wealth of the able.

Allah says in the Qur’an:

“And establish prayer and give Zakat…”(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:43)

Zakat purifies your wealth and soul while helping to reduce poverty and hardship.
