Quman’s Story: Why This Fund Matters

Quman Egeh Jibril, a 52-year-old mother of six, has faced crisis after crisis. After losing her husband, famine swept through her village, killing their livestock — the family’s only source of income.

To survive, Quman began collecting milk from nearby rural areas to sell in the market. It was just enough to manage — until the drought worsened. Soon there was no milk to sell, no food to prepare, and her children went to bed hungry night after night.

When ARF reached Quman, her story deeply moved us. With support from donors like you, we delivered emergency food assistance to her family. As she received the food package, she prayed aloud: “May you never know hunger.”

Your generosity gave a mother running out of options renewed hope — and gave six hungry children a reason to smile again.

The Bigger Picture

Sadly, Quman’s struggle is the reality for millions.

In 2025:

  • Over 38.8 million people are internally displaced across Africa — the highest on record.
  • More than £160 billion is lost annually to floods, droughts, and disease.
  • Families in the Horn of Africa survive on less than £1.50 a day, living one crisis away from despair.

Why Your Support Is Urgent:

  • A drought today sparks hunger crises tomorrow.
  • A flood today fuels cholera outbreaks tomorrow.
  • A displacement crisis today robs 12 million children of education tomorrow.

With global aid appeals only 40% funded, millions go without help. Your donation bridges that gap — turning emergencies into survival and resilience.
