African Relief Fund impelemented a Qurbani Project which is funded by UK Islamic Mission. The nubmer of beneficiaries were 396 person. This Qurbani meat were given to the poor people who were living in Mogadishu Internal Displaced Camps.
This project has been implemented 22/12/2007. No. of Adahi (Slaughtered livestock): goats and sheep: 71, cows: 7. Each Family’s portion: Every 5 families share 1 (goat or sheep). Every 12 families share 1 cow. The idea of the project: This project is one of seasonal projects of African Relief Fund . These days of Eid are the most precious and delightful days in the year for Muslims. So for creation of an atmosphere full of happiness and prayers, the ARF planned this project for providing meat to poor families, orphans and victims of war, droughts and floods, to pass- at least- these days in happiness like other families in the Muslim World. Project Implementation African Relief Fund implemented this project in Mogadishu the capital city of Somalia in a critical period of the lives of hundred of thousands of people who become internally displaced in their country. This project was not materialising without the cooperation of local aid such Amal Develpemt Organisation and local community leaders. . The project covered the need of hundreds of people who live in desperate situation in Mogadishu the capital city of Somalia. Acknowledgement The ARF, on behalf of Somali Community particularly, the beneficiaries, thank to the UK Islamic Mission, and the other organisations participated funding the project. We would like to thank Amal Development Organisation for their kind cooperation to implement this project. The project has so many dimensions whether it is an Islamic Occasion, Humanitarian aid or Social The ARF had committed itself through its office and other local aid organisation in Somalia to reach anywhere in the country, even the remote areas to help and distribute fairly the aid given by international, local organisations, governments or individuals. |
