| ARF Implements Drinking Water-Wells Project in 4 Region in South Southern Somalia |

For the past 16 years, Somalia has witnessed internecine warfare and widespread insecurity. The country has been without a unified central government since the end of 1990, and have created large number of internal displaced persons and caused many water sources to fall into disappear.
African Relief Fund organized the survey team to assess the requirement for potable water in southern regions of Somalia. The Team carried out a survey in main southern regions (middle and lower Shabelle, Bay, Bakol, Gado, Middle & Lower Juba regions) and found no significant sources of water in the area. The project is implemented by African Relief Fund Somalia office. The Selection well locations based on priorities defined during the survey and after worked in close consultation with stakeholders and community elders were invited to decide about the location of each well so the drilling well project location covers the middle and lower Shabelle, Bay, and Bakol regions of southern Somalia. Distributed wells in southern Somalia as following schedule:
